We just wrapped up our summer soccer program with a celebration given by the state representative. About 45 of our children showed up with some parents, grandparents, and neighbors. The kids gave speeches about why they like soccer, and awards were given out. It was a perfect night. We got to spend time with the children, some of our volunteers were out, and everyone had time to reflect on all that we accomplished during the summer. A lot of our children were hesitant originally to play soccer. But they showed up and put in the work. They learned and improved at breakneck pace. We now have some real soccer players on our hands. And the idea is to keep it going. We're going to have soccer once a month throughout the winter. And we're also going to raise some funds so we can have a few teams next summer.
